MacOS 8.5 introduces a new system level applicaiton switcher that provides the user with minimal keyboard-based applicaiton switching. While functional, this new MacOS feature does not replace all of the features available in Program Switcher. Users will still want to use Program Switcher instead of the new MacOS application switcher. However, the new MacOS application switcher interferes with Program Switcher when the user has Program Switcher’s key’s set to command-tab. Enclosed in the Program Switcher archive you will find a script that can shut off the new MacOS application switcher so that it does not interfere with Program Switcher.

  5. The script, titled “Toggle MacOS 8.5 App Switcher”, will toggle to current setting for the MacOS application switcher. If the MacOS application switcher is on, running the script will shut it off (and vice versa).
